Avon tyres reveal new Cobra tyre

Avon tyres will be replacing the popular Venom-R custom and touring tyre next year with this, the Cobra.

The new tyre has snakeskin sidewalls, a totally revised tread pattern and lower noise emissions than the outgoing rubber and uses technology derived from the Viper sports tyre.

The tyre profile, called the Wide Custom Treat Arc or WCTA, is said to make for more nimble handling and snakeskin walls have been introduced to cope with the increases in weight of custom and touring machinery.

The tyre is aimed at the likes of the V-Rod, Rocket III and the Goldwing and can cater for custom bikes using 300 section rear tyres.

Only Gripe i have about then Venom is that they don't last very long and are expensive. I hope the Cobra is not going to be dearer and quick wearing.
