You wanna sign this one!

Another whimsical plan of discrimination from the government -trying to follow France in limiting all bikes to 100bhp, you want that to happen? Evil or Very Mad

Deadline to sign up by: 27 September 2009

Every serious Biker knows that its proper good quality training and attitude that saves lives on bikes, unaware car drivers are also a problem, power limits have proven not to be of any use as in france were there is a 100bhp limit, they still have fatalities, when will the goverment and brussels realise that we're all human beings and accidents happen, nobody forces us to ride bikes, we do it of our own free will and accept the risks involved, for alot of people the the open road is still a pleasure.

"Just remember when someone starts to muck around with your way of life it gives you the right to start mucking about with theirs.
Sooner or later motorcyclists, bikers or anyone who wants to ride a 2 wheel vehicle with a motor will have to stand up for what they want.
There are groups out there who fight a lot of these proposed changes to legislation on everyones behalf and they need support to keep doing that. Lobbying etc takes time and money and unless we all want to be sitting in tin cans remembering the good old days of fresh air and the open road on our chosen iron horse, we all need to be raising funds to support these efforts.
How many bikes would it take to block up the M25 for a few hours everyday? or bring London to its knees by a slow moving blockade of all major roads, or paralyze the major ports to bring home to Europe that we don't want, need or desire any of their draconian rules and to let them know that some of us still like a bit of risk in our lives, that it makes us feel alive and in control of our own destiny.
Cotton wool stiffles life and movement and there is far too much of it being stuffed into our society in the guise of keeping us safe and protecting us from ourselves. Its all to do with control in the end. Control and money. and you can bet none of us at the bottom will have either.

If North Wales is allowed to stop bikes, then next it will be Cornwall, Devon etc etc so everyone should be aware of whats happening. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to work out that bikes cause less pollution, less damage to the roads and environment, they don't cause traffic jams (unless you really want them to) and generally don't use half the petrol of the average car (my Rocket 3 excluded).
So why does no-one promote them as the partial answer to carbon emission control? Why does no-one of the green persuasion ever stand up and champion them as the transport of tomorrow? Because its not the bike, it the way of life they are after. Like hunting. Banned because people wanted to end what they perceived as a priviledged way of life, not because they cared about the animals particulary. Backed by Labour to bring in the large amount of votes and because it fitted in with the "soak the rich" policies. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with killing anything for no reason but this is to point out that very often the object that is being banned is not necessarily the item that is being aimed at. No government or police authority wants bikes around in large numbers because they promote a joy for life that is at odds with the control they want to place on everyone. We have all seen it over the years, get more than 5 or 6 bikes meeting in one place for a couple of weeks and suddenly the police arrive to check whats going on. and they will arrive every week until the meetings stop. If the meeting gets bigger, so will the police presence, pro rata. While they are watching you drinking coffee and chatting with your mates, someone is probably breaking into your house or garage or 30 drunken car drivers pass by without hindrance. And we do nothing about it. We should be lobbying our local Police Chief to find out how much it costs to watch a few people enjoying themselves in McD's on Tuesday evenings? what percentage of his traffic unit is used in this dangerous and necessary work? What is the reason for it? etc etc. Let them know we know. We are in danger of slowly losing our freedoms, one by one, by inaction and complacence. The old saying that "all it takes for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing", has never been more true.
These F**kers will have us all grounded if we do nothing. Support all the groups lobbying on our behalf, sign every petition or start your own. Email this one to everyone you know. "
